General Motors announces Q3 profit of $1.96 billion ahead of IPO

Filed under: GM , Earnings/Financials General Motors posted its last financial report before the company’s initial public offering of stock next week. In it, the company reported that in the third quarter of 2010, it earned a net income of $1.96 billion on a total of $34.06 billion in revenue. That puts the automaker’s 2010 figures at $4.16 billion of net income on $98.17 billion in revenue, though GM does say that it expects earnings to fall in the fourth quarter thanks to costs associated with developing new vehicles and launching products like the Chevrolet Volt and Cruze .

Surviving GM dealers see mixed benefits of smaller network

The dealer cutback was supposed to help GM’s bottom line while simultaneously bolstering sales and profits at the remaining dealerships, but has it worked?

Losing out on Saab may have been the best thing for Koenigsegg to do financially, but we’re thinking there’s at least some small measure of regret for Christian von Koenigsegg and crew that the deal didn’t happen.

Report: Saab sales chief Hallmark resigns after 7 months, heads to Jaguar

After just seven months on the job, reports are that he has resigned to take a position with Jaguar as the Global Brand Director, effective December 1. Hallmark had taken his position at Saab just two months after the company was purchased by Spyker Cars , from General Motors
