As usual, even though we’re speaking of a subtly tweaked Gallardo Spyder whose finest revelations couldn’t even be seen, it was worth the trip. The lightweight droptop sheds more than 140 pounds versus the standard offering, and gains a meaner visage to make its point.

Billed as “less weight, more fascination,” the Spyder Performante is meant to take the ‘regular’ Gallardo Spyder to new highs of performance with new lows of weight. Essentially a superleggera version of the Gallardo Spyder, a total of 143 pounds have been shed from the standard convertible through the use of carbon fiber and carbon composite parts both outside and in.
